Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt is: Write a poem that anthropomorphizes a kind of food. I needed a mental break, so today’s response is from a guest poet who loves food!
My dear favorite child,
You are sweet, yet wild.
Sometimes you are mellow and sit there cool,
While other times, you are feisty and ready to duel.
We both always have the same desire,
But to get there, patience you require.
In the end, we are always friends,
For any disagreement, we make amends.
And any time we are apart for a day or two,
I yearn for the next time I can see you.
Often, you are so perfect that I think you were made in a lab,
However, you are not a child at all, but a steamed Maryland blue crab!
